🍗 Crispy Sweet Chilli Chicken

 

Ingredients

For the chicken:

• 400 g chicken breast (cut into bite-sized pieces)

• 1 cup all-purpose flour

• ½ cup cornflour (gives extra crispiness)

• 1 tsp garlic powder

• 1 tsp paprika or chilli powder

• ½ tsp salt

• ½ tsp pepper

• 1 egg

• Oil for frying

For the sweet chilli sauce:

• ½ cup sweet chilli sauce

• 2 tbsp soy sauce

• 1 tbsp honey (optional for extra stickiness)

• 1 tbsp ketchup

• 1 tsp chilli flakes (optional)


🔪 Instructions

1. Prepare the chicken

  1. Cut chicken into small chunks.
  2. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
  3. Beat the egg in a bowl.
  4. In another bowl, mix flour, cornflour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.

2. Coat & fry

  1. Dip chicken pieces in egg → coat in the flour mixture.
  2. Deep fry or shallow fry on medium heat until golden and crispy (6–8 minutes).
  3. Remove and place on paper towels.

3. Make the sweet chilli glaze

  1. Heat a pan on medium.
  2. Add sweet chilli sauce, soy sauce, honey, ketchup, and chilli flakes.
  3. Cook for 1–2 minutes until slightly thickened.

4. Combine

• Add crispy chicken to the pan and toss until fully coated and glossy.


🌿 Serve with:

• Steamed rice or fried rice

• Noodles

• Fresh salad

• Spring onions & sesame seeds on top
