Chocolate Lava Cake Recipe
A rich and decadent Chocolate Lava Cake with a gooey center! 🍫🔥
Ingredients (Makes 4 cakes):
- ½ cup (115g) unsalted butter
- 4 oz (113g) semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
- 2 large eggs
- 2 large egg yolks
- ¼ cup (50g) granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp (15g) all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- A pinch of salt
- Butter and cocoa powder (for greasing ramekins)
Instructions:
- Preheat & Prepare: Preheat oven to 425°F (218°C). Grease 4 ramekins with butter and dust with cocoa powder.
- Melt the Chocolate: Melt butter and chocolate together in 30-sec intervals, stirring until smooth. Cool slightly.
- Whisk Eggs & Sugar: Whisk eggs, yolks, and sugar until light and fluffy. Add vanilla extract and mix.
- Combine: Slowly add chocolate mixture to eggs, fold in flour and salt until just combined.
- Fill Ramekins: Divide batter evenly among ramekins.
- Bake: Bake 10–12 mins until edges firm, center slightly soft.
- Serve Immediately: Let cool 1 min, run knife around edges, invert onto plate.
Optional Toppings:
- Dust with powdered sugar
- Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream
- Drizzle with melted chocolate or caramel
