Chocolate Lava Cake

A rich and decadent Chocolate Lava Cake with a gooey center! 🍫🔥

Ingredients (Makes 4 cakes):

  • ½ cup (115g) unsalted butter
  • 4 oz (113g) semi-sweet chocolate, chopped
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 large egg yolks
  • ¼ cup (50g) granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp (15g) all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt
  • Butter and cocoa powder (for greasing ramekins)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat & Prepare: Preheat oven to 425°F (218°C). Grease 4 ramekins with butter and dust with cocoa powder.
  2. Melt the Chocolate: Melt butter and chocolate together in 30-sec intervals, stirring until smooth. Cool slightly.
  3. Whisk Eggs & Sugar: Whisk eggs, yolks, and sugar until light and fluffy. Add vanilla extract and mix.
  4. Combine: Slowly add chocolate mixture to eggs, fold in flour and salt until just combined.
  5. Fill Ramekins: Divide batter evenly among ramekins.
  6. Bake: Bake 10–12 mins until edges firm, center slightly soft.
  7. Serve Immediately: Let cool 1 min, run knife around edges, invert onto plate.

Optional Toppings:

  • Dust with powdered sugar
  • Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream
  • Drizzle with melted chocolate or caramel
