Ingredients:
• 225g unsalted butter (room temperature)
• 115g granulated sugar
• 10g vanilla sugar (optional)
• 65g powdered sugar
• 1 egg
• 400g all-purpose flour
• 1 tsp salt
• Red food coloring
Instructions:
In a bowl, beat together the butter, granulated sugar, vanilla sugar, and powdered sugar until creamy.
Add the egg and mix until combined.
Stir in the flour and salt to form a smooth dough.
Divide the dough into two equal portions. Color one portion with red food coloring.
Cover both doughs and refrigerate for 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 180°C.
Take 15g of each dough, roll into 10 cm logs, and twist the two colors together.
Place the twisted candy cane dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake for 11 minutes at 180°C.
Let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
