- 3 ripe bananas (mashed)
- ½ cup melted butter (or coconut oil)
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup chocolate chips (plus extra for topping)

- Preheat Oven: Preheat to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a loaf pan with parchment paper.
- Mash Bananas: In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
- Add Wet Ingredients: Stir in melted butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla until well combined.
- Add Dry Ingredients: Sift in flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Gently fold until just mixed.
- Add Chocolate Chips: Fold in chocolate chips.
- Pour Batter: Pour into the loaf pan and sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top.
- Bake: Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out mostly clean.
- Cool: Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
