Spicy Prawn Curry

Ingredients

  • 300g prawns (cleaned and deveined)
  • 1 onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 tomatoes (pureed)
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • ½ cup coconut milk
  • ½ tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • Fresh curry leaves (optional)
  • Fresh coriander for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
  2. Add onions and sauté until golden brown. Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute.
  3. Pour in tomato puree and cook until the oil separates.
  4. Add turmeric, chili powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well.
  5. Add prawns and cook for 3-4 minutes until they turn pink.
  6. Pour in coconut milk and simmer for 5 more minutes.
  7. Garnish with fresh coriander and serve with steamed rice.
